For doctors and clinicians

A signature you can write four hundred times a day and still recognise.

Orders, charts, scripts, letters. The signature a clinician writes most is the one they had the least time to design.

Twenty original directions for your full name, in about a minute. Free to try; the kit is $19, if one of them is worth keeping.

Drawn for Marcus Bell

Three directions the studio would draw for doctors and clinicians

Confident · flowing · fully readable

The formal version, for letters of recommendation, credentialing and anything with a letterhead.

Understated · sharp · signature-legible

The shift signature: one gesture, no flourish, the same at seven in the morning and seven at night.

Commanding · sharp · signature-legible

Distinct at a glance across a page of other hands, which is what a chart asks for.

Studio drawings of an example name, made by the same engine that draws the paid kit and chosen on the briefs that suit this moment. Yours are drawn on your own name — twenty of them — and you choose.

The moment

Why this is the time

The joke about doctors’ handwriting exists because the volume is real. A signature written hundreds of times a shift collapses into whatever is fastest, and whatever is fastest was never chosen. It just happened.

The studio designs for the volume instead of pretending it away. You keep a fast signature that is a single deliberate gesture — quick because it was designed to be, not because it decayed — and a formal version that is clearly the same hand for the letters that carry your name in full.

The drawing is made on your full name as it appears on your licence. Add the credential in the name field if you sign with it.

The kit

What you keep

  • A fast clinical signature and a formal letterhead version, both on your name.
  • Transparent PNG and SVG for electronic records, letters and e-signing.
  • The written report: how the mark is built, and how to keep it the same under speed.
  • The lesson and practice sheets, for a hand that holds its shape on a long shift.

How it works

Three steps, one question

  1. Type the full name. No brief, no style quiz. The name is the brief.
  2. See twenty directions, drawn in about a minute, from fully readable to signature-legible.
  3. Keep three. The files, the report and the lesson arrive straight after checkout.

Questions

Asked before buying

Is a fast signature a legible one?

Not necessarily, and it does not have to be. What it must be is consistent and distinct. The studio draws fast directions that are designed to be quick, and formal directions that are fully readable, and you keep both.

Can I include my credentials?

Yes. Type the name exactly as you sign it — with or without the title or letters after it — and the drawing follows.

Can I use the files in an electronic health record?

Where a system accepts an uploaded signature image, the transparent PNG is the format it wants. Your institution’s policy on that is yours to check.

How much is it?

Seeing the twenty directions is free. The kit is $19.
