For founders

The first thing your company signs is you.

Incorporation papers, the bank, the first hire’s offer, the term sheet. Before the company has a brand, it has your signature.

Twenty original directions for your full name, in about a minute. Free to try; the kit is $19, if one of them is worth keeping.

Three directions the studio would draw for founders

Confident · sharp · fully readable

Readable and even, for the formation documents and anything a lawyer will file.

Commanding · flowing · signature-legible

The one for the welcome letter and the thank-you note: the founder’s hand as part of the brand.

Understated · sharp · signature-legible

The volume signature, for the day the contracts start arriving ten at a time.

Studio drawings of an example name, made by the same engine that draws the paid kit and chosen on the briefs that suit this moment. Yours are drawn on your own name — twenty of them — and you choose.

The moment

Why this is the time

In the first year of a company the founder signs everything: the formation papers, the lease, the bank forms, every offer letter, every vendor agreement. It is the most-reproduced mark the business has, long before the logo is settled, and it is usually the one thing nobody thought about.

The studio draws your name in twenty directions and you keep three: a readable one for the filings, a fast one for the volume, and one with enough presence to sit under a letter to your first customers. The same hand on all of them.

Type your full legal name, as it will appear on the incorporation documents. That is what gets signed most.

The kit

What you keep

  • A readable filing signature, a fast contract signature and a letter signature, one hand.
  • SVG and transparent PNG for e-signing, letterhead, the website’s founder note and investor updates.
  • The written report, so you know how the mark is built and where each version belongs.
  • The lesson and practice sheets, for a signature that is identical on the term sheet and the thousandth contract.

How it works

Three steps, one question

  1. Type the full name. No brief, no style quiz. The name is the brief.
  2. See twenty directions, drawn in about a minute, from fully readable to signature-legible.
  3. Keep three. The files, the report and the lesson arrive straight after checkout.

Questions

Asked before buying

Should a founder’s signature match the company brand?

It should be yours. A signature that outlives the first logo redesign is more useful than one that matches it. The report helps you choose a direction that sits well on letterhead without being designed around it.

Can I use it in DocuSign and the e-signing tools?

Yes. The transparent PNG is the format they accept for an uploaded signature, and the SVG covers everything printed.

Can my co-founder get one too?

Each kit is drawn on one name. Each co-founder types their own and keeps their own.

How much is it?

Seeing the twenty directions is free. The kit is $19.
